How economic anxiety is changing what employees expect from work
We recently had the opportunity to share new insights from the Logica® Future of Money Study on HR.com. “How economic anxiety is changing what employees expect from work,” by our CEO and Founder Lilah Raynor, explores how the economy is reshaping how employees think about their jobs, their employers and the support they expect at work.

In the article, Lilah explains how our study finds financial stress showing up in ways like heightened sensitivity to commuting costs, closer scrutiny of work benefits tied to financial stability and more cautious decision-making overall. Even as many employees continue to rate their financial well-being positively, ongoing economic uncertainty still plays a meaningful role in how they assess risk, opportunity and trust in their employer.
Our study shows these pressures are changing what employees look for at work. The article delves into how financial well-being programs, flexibility and transparency around technology are no longer just nice-to-haves. They increasingly influence whether people feel understood by their organization and whether it is a place they can envision staying and growing.
The article also highlights how perceptions of AI in the workplace vary widely depending on job role and access to technology. These findings from the Future of Money Study point to a workforce that is adapting with intention, weighing trade-offs carefully rather than reacting impulsively as conditions continue to shift.
